About the Role
Join a specialized nephrology team in a Brantford hospital providing essential nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. In this role, you will support patients through pre-dialysis, dialysis, and post-dialysis phases by monitoring their condition, assisting with dialysis procedures, and educating patients and families on managing renal health. You will collaborate closely with registered nurses and nephrologists to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care in a dynamic clinical setting.

Job Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care during all dialysis phases
-
Assist with cannulation of fistulas/grafts and monitor dialysis equipment

Monitor patients for changes and communicate concerns to the RN or nephrologist
-
Educate patients and families on dialysis care and health management

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education
Qualifications
-
Registered Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)

Experience in hemodialysis or renal care preferred
-
Completion or enrollment in nephrology-specific education or certification an asset

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
-
Ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional team
