About the Role

Join a specialized nephrology team in a Brantford hospital providing essential nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. In this role, you will support patients through pre-dialysis, dialysis, and post-dialysis phases by monitoring their condition, assisting with dialysis procedures, and educating patients and families on managing renal health. Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care during all dialysis phases

• Assist with cannulation of fistulas/grafts and monitor dialysis equipment

• Monitor patients for changes and communicate concerns to the RN or nephrologist

• Educate patients and families on dialysis care and health management

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education

Qualifications

• Registered Licensed Practical Nurse with the  College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)

• Experience in hemodialysis or renal care preferred

• Completion or enrollment in nephrology-specific education or certification an asset

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional team
